The Festive day...

The good things about Halloween is that...

1) I have an excuse to look bad and knock on peoples doors and ask for snack.
2) Baskin Robins Ice-cream is cheep today cuz it's the 31st.
3) Abner get's off lucky for calling me a witch. (he actually did and I have no idea why)

Geee whiz...imagine carving a pumpkin this large...good luck! (you could actually go inside, it just might be fun!)
Pretty Halloween pix...

Whole Wheat Biscuits (Another for Crys)

This is another recipe that I have found to work and the pluses to this one is that it's...
1. Just as easy as the scones
2. Faster
3. Healthier...because it, takes less butter and is whole wheat!

These whole wheat biscuits (also from Aich) are by no means as good as daddy's. (nothing could beat those EVER!) His seriously tasted like Kentucky biscuits. Yours definitely were the best dad! Hug!

1 cup flour
1 cup wheat flour
4 tbsp baking powder
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup milk

roll to 3/4 inch

bake at 230 C for 10~12 min

...and Voila!

Enjoy!

Summer

Ppl are posting about Autumn, but here its Summer & so I'm happy, I love the heat, the beach & wearing summer clothes!
Only thing that we have to endure are the crazy strong winds which aren't very pleasant.
We just experienced a terrible storm which kept us up most of the night & by terrible I mean winds going 120 km an hour & roofs from houses all around us getting torn off & damaged. Yep, we were very fortunate & only got slightly damaged compared to our neighbors...thank you angels!
I didn't manage to take photos but there was quite a mess! A guy in the home went out to inspect & when he faced the wind it blew off his shoe and that was the last he saw of it! HAAAA!
Oh and Lily, I tried our your recipe & the scones were gooooood! YATA!

Yo!

My hair is my original color again, will post photos soon! promise, ok I take that back, every time I say promise I never keep it so i will post photos soon.....as soon as I can, um thats it, I just wanted to say that before i went to sleep, so have a good night and tomorrow is another day.......I'm working tomorrow finally, haven't worked for almost a week, which will hurt my wallet more then it will hurt me, but if my wallet isn't happy then my landlord isn't happy and my water bill isn't happy and my other bills arn't happy and if they arn't happy then im not happy, so i guess I should work harder! so i guess I better get to bed, sorry if I always sound insain when i write on the blog, please don't send me away! I promise I'll be better soon! lol
peace my sisters and hope you have sweet dreams

p.s
I forgive you for forgetting my birthday! no hard feelings, btw when was your birthday again? I must have lost my schedual book................................................(kidding kidding don't get angry)

Autumn...

I really do like what Autumn brings. Beautiful colors, comfortable temperatures that are perfect for the outdoors and for sleeping too, the smell of burning leaves, the sound of crunchy leaves under your feet...people making yakimo (baked sweet potatoes in leaves) etc....the only thing I'm not looking forward to is the season following this one....WINTER....EEEEEEEk! But let us enjoy the moment while we can shall we....here are some beauty photos.

I'm thankful for.....

Those who I communicate with must have heard some of my struggles over the past months since moving and all the uncomfortable things big changes can bring into your life.
But (hallelujah!) there are also those moments, those little (or big) thing/s that make a huge difference to help cheer and lighten your step.
Some of this month's accomplishments & blessings which I'm thankful for:

*I got to spend a few days with my best friend Kathy who was visiting Capetown from Germany.

*Lorenzo is now potty trained (in just 3 weeks, but could use a little more practice) and also stays dry at night by waking up a couple times to go potty!

*He started sleeping in his own bed again (finally got one for him) & the transition from ours to his was a lot smoother than I expected. Our bed feels too big for just the 2 of us now!

drum roll.....

*Gabe and I own our very own car for the first time ever!!! God supplies! and yes, its light blue!

And of course I'm very thankful for my family & friends in Japan, Italy & Europe who I miss soooooooo much!
Love you all!!! I'm dreaming of nihonshoku, sushi, olives, chesse & gelato!!!
